Valletta will take on Hibernians in a highly anticipated encounter as they look to bounce back from their defeat to Marsaxlokk and return to winning ways ahead of this weekend’s Malta Super Cup clash against city rivals Floriana.

The Citizens currently hold a two-point advantage over Hibernians and will be keen to maintain their positive start to the campaign by collecting maximum points from this encounter. Following their setback against Marsaxlokk, Valletta will be determined to produce a stronger performance and put themselves in the best possible frame of mind before turning their attention to the Super Cup.

Hibernians, meanwhile, also come into the match looking for a reaction after being held to a draw by St Patrick. The Paolisti produced a good display during the first half of that match, but their performance dropped after the break, allowing their opponents to grow into the game and eventually claim a share of the spoils.

The clash between Valletta and Hibernians is expected to be another fiercely contested and entertaining encounter, with both sides eager to secure an important three points.

The atmosphere should also be one of the highlights of the evening, with Hibernians supporters expected to turn out in force as the match is being played at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.

With Valletta also facing Floriana in the Super Cup at the weekend, this match represents an important opportunity for the Citizens to regain momentum, while Hibernians will be determined to show that they can maintain their level of performance for the full 90 minutes.
