Maltese artistic swimmer Zea Montfort produced another outstanding performance at the Junior European Championships, finishing an impressive seventh in the Women’s Solo Free Final and recording Malta’s best-ever results at the competition.

Having qualified for the final in eighth place during Tuesday’s preliminary round, Montfort delivered a powerful and expressive routine that earned high praise from the judges, particularly for its artistic impression. Her performance saw her climb one place in the standings to secure an excellent seventh-place finish.

The result caps off a memorable championship for the young Maltese athlete, marking a significant improvement on last year’s performances and setting a new benchmark for Malta at the Junior European Championships.

Montfort’s achievement is also a testament to the dedication of her coaching team, as well as the continued support provided by the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta and SportMalta, whose efforts continue to contribute to the growth of artistic swimming in Malta.

With the Junior European Championships now behind her, Montfort’s focus turns to the Senior European Championships this August, where she will once again represent Malta on the international stage as she continues her impressive progression in the sport.
