Sliema Wanderers FC have continued their aggressive summer transfer window strategy by securing agreements for two highly experienced international players: Dutch forward Nigel Robertha and Macedonian center-back Vlatko Drobarov.

The double signing caps off an incredibly active week for head coach Branko Nisevic, who is systematically addressing key tactical needs in both the attacking and defensive departments ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The addition of 28-year-old forward Nigel Robertha injects serious pace and elite-tier experience into the Wanderers’ frontline. Robertha, who represents Curaçao internationally and previously featured for the Netherlands at youth levels, joins after a highly successful trial period with the club.

His profile makes him the perfect spearhead for a tactical system heavily reliant on quick, vertical counter-attacks. He brings verified top-flight experience, notably from his multi-season stint in the United States playing in Major League Soccer (MLS).

Aerial Dominance at the Back: Vlatko Drobarov

To anchor the backline, Sliema have secured the physical presence of 33-year-old Vlatko Drobarov. The former Macedonian Under-21 international is a seasoned journeyman who brings a wealth of leadership and defensive intelligence from various European top flights.

Standing at 187 centimeters tall, Drobarov provides the physical profile Sliema lacked in tight defensive low-blocks. He is exceptionally dominant in aerial duels and provides a commanding presence inside the 18-yard box.

Drobarov arrives in Malta fully match-fit and sharp, having spent the previous season as a regular, everyday starter for Cherno More Varna in the Bulgarian efbet Liga (top division).
