Andre Cassar emerged as the overall winner of the fourth MSSF Skeet Competition 50+50+25 after producing a strong performance at the Malta National Shooting Ranges in Siġġiewi.

Cassar finished with a score of 117/125 to claim top spot, two targets ahead of Liam Sciberras, who placed second with 115/125. Joseph Muscat completed the podium with 97/125.

The competition featured a progressive elimination format, with all participants initially shooting at 50 targets before the four leading shooters advanced to another series of 50.

After 100 targets, Sciberras and Cassar were tied at the top of the standings with 92/100.

Muscat and Mikaela Galea both registered 81/100, forcing a shoot-off to determine who would advance to the final stage. Muscat prevailed 3-1 to secure the third and final qualifying position.

The remaining three shooters then contested another 25 targets, with Cassar producing the decisive performance to overtake Sciberras and secure overall victory with 117/125.

Sciberras ended two targets behind on 115/125, while Muscat finished third with 97/125.

After the opening 50 targets, Cassar had also topped Class A with 46/50, ahead of Sciberras on 42/50.

Muscat led Class B with 42/50, followed by Galea on 41/50 and Jamie Buttiġieġ on 40/50.

Attention now turns to the seventh Skeet Selection Shoot of 2026, which will be held on September 19 and 20 at the Malta National Shooting Ranges.
