A place among the best third-placed finishers appears to be the most realistic route to the knockout stages for either side, although Bosnia have made life difficult for themselves following a heavy 4-1 defeat to Switzerland in their previous outing.

While a top-two finish remains mathematically possible, Bosnia would require Canada to suffer a significant defeat in the group’s other fixture, while also securing a convincing victory of their own. That looks a tall order considering they have failed to win any of their last six matches inside 90 minutes (D6, L1). Although a top-two finish is still theoretically possible, it would require a heavy Switzerland defeat alongside a sizeable victory of their own.
