Emmanuel Bugeja wins the All Malta 2026 – 6th Trap Selection Shoot

Emmanuel Bugeja was crowned champion of the All Malta 2026 competition after producing an impressive performance to secure victory in what also served as the sixth Trap Selection Shoot of the season.
Ryan Bugeja finished as runner-up, while Gianluca Chetcuti completed the podium in third place following two days of high-quality shooting at the Malta National Shooting Range.
Competitors faced a demanding qualification programme of 125 clay targets across the two-day event, with the standard of shooting proving exceptionally high. A total of 10 perfect rounds of 25/25 were recorded by eight different athletes.
Ryan Bugeja, James Galea Jr, Brian Galea, Nico Sciberras, Nicholas Carabott and Christopher Vella each registered one perfect round of 25/25. Gianluca Chetcuti and Luke Cassar both achieved two consecutive perfect rounds on the second day, hitting all 50 out of 50 clay targets.
The eight finalists qualified in bib number order based on their qualification scores. Ryan Bugeja topped the standings with 120/125, followed by William Chetcuti with 119/125, winning a shoot-off to secure second qualification position. Gianluca Chetcuti also finished on 119/125, placing third after the shoot-off.
James Galea Jr qualified with 116/125, while Brian Galea progressed with 115/125 after winning a shoot-off. Nicholas Carabott also advanced with 115/125, prevailing through successive shoot-offs, with Nico Sciberras claiming the seventh qualifying place on the same score. Emmanuel Bugeja secured the final place in the medal round after hitting 114/125 targets before going on to produce an outstanding performance in the final to claim the All Malta 2026 title.
The competition once again highlighted the depth of talent within Maltese trap shooting, with a number of athletes delivering flawless rounds and an exciting final bringing the prestigious All Malta title to a close.
