Spanish forward Gonzalo Garcia has completed a move to Fulham from Real Madrid, with the Premier League club confirming the signing on Monday. The transfer also sees the 22-year-old reunite with former coach Alvaro Arbeloa after making the switch from the Spanish giants.

Garcia arrives in west London following the most impressive campaign of his young career. He found the net eight times for Real Madrid last season, including six goals in La Liga, while one of his standout performances came in January when he scored a hat-trick against Real Betis.

The talented striker has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at Fulham until 2031. The agreement also includes an option for the club to extend his stay by an additional year.

According to reports in Spain, the transfer is worth around €40 million (£34 million). As part of the deal, Real Madrid have reportedly secured a 30% sell-on clause, allowing the Spanish club to benefit from any future transfer involving Garcia.

After appointing Alvaro Arbeloa as head coach earlier this summer, Fulham have continued to strengthen their squad with familiar faces from Real Madrid. The former Spanish international previously coached within Madrid’s youth academy before being promoted to the senior role following the departure of Xabi Alonso in January.

Gonzalo Garcia is not the only promising talent to follow Arbeloa to Craven Cottage. Fellow Spaniard Cesar Palacios, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, has also completed a move to Fulham after earning opportunities with Real Madrid’s first team under Arbeloa during the latter stages of last season.

Real Madrid are undergoing a significant rebuild after failing to win a major trophy in each of the past two seasons. The Spanish giants have appointed experienced Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho as their new head coach, replacing Alvaro Arbeloa, as they look to reshape the squad and return to competing for the biggest honours.
