Marsaxlokk MFF Limited and Sirens Build Fitness both produced dominant performances on Monday evening as they secured comfortable victories in the BOV Summer League, with Marsaxlokk winning in the First Division and Sirens maintaining their momentum in the Premier Division.

In the BOV First Division Summer League, Marsaxlokk MFF Limited defeated Otters Nivea 17-10 after taking control of the contest with a devastating third-quarter display.

Marsaxlokk established an early 5-3 lead at the end of the opening session before extending their advantage to 7-4 by half-time. The decisive moment came after the interval as they dominated the third quarter 8-2 to open up a commanding 15-6 lead. Although Otters claimed the final period 4-2, the outcome had long been decided.

Nikola Bogdanovic was the star of the match, finishing with an outstanding 10-goal haul. Jamie Borg Tabone added four goals, while Enrico Mallia, Jack Pawley and Benji Lewis each scored once.

For Otters, Giorgio La Rosa netted five times, Adam Azzopardi added two, while Kenneth Micallef, Isaac Azzopardi and Dean Camilleri all found the back of the net once.

In the Premier Division, Sirens Build Fitness recorded an equally impressive 16-9 victory over Valletta Peak Insurance Brokers after racing into a commanding lead during the opening half.

Sirens took the first quarter 5-2 before virtually putting the match beyond reach with a dominant 6-1 second period to establish an 11-3 advantage at the break. They maintained control throughout the second half, winning the third quarter 2-1 before Valletta finished strongly by taking the final session 5-3, although it was only enough to reduce the margin.

Daniel Angyal spearheaded Sirens’ attack with eight goals in an excellent individual performance. Mattias Ortoleva and Isiah Riolo each scored twice, while J. Zerafa Gregory, Paul Serracino, Matthew Sciberras and Matthew Mifsud all added a goal apiece.

Valletta’s top scorer was Kieyan Borg with three goals, while Max Zammit contributed two. Pablo Chmyr, Daniel Tully, Ken Erdogan and Matthew Chircop each added one goal in defeat.

Both victories were built on dominant spells before the interval, with Marsaxlokk taking complete control through an eight-goal third quarter, while Sirens effectively settled their contest by opening up an eight-goal lead by half-time to continue their strong Summer League campaign.
